Can I buy screw on camping gas cartridges in India ?

A reader asked..
Going to Asia camping for 5 months and not sure what type of stove to buy for cooking food, camping gaz or screw on gas cartridge stove!
Any Ideas?

Go with the gas stove. The one I would go with is the Whisperlite International. It can burn white gas, kerosene, even diesel and unleaded gasoline, so you`ll always have fuel available for you. Scroll down the page to read the features and great reviews:

Such cartridges are available in India and most of Asia. But go with Beach Bum’s suggestion and use a multi-fuel stove. It’ll be much cheaper in the long run, less waste and you’ll not have to worry about finding the right fuel regardless of where you are.
The other, unique alternative is to make your own “beer can alcohol stove”. Seriously, you can make your own stove that will burn denatured alcohol.
Google “beer can stove” or “beer can alcohol stove” to learn more. Denatured alcohol is relatively easy to find all over the world and in a pinch, being able to make one of these “on the road” might be a skill worth knowing.
