Enjoy flying in Nepal

March 2nd, 2010

Nepal is a country where flying a plane can be dangerous yet very exciting. Kathmandu the capital city is surrounded by the Mountain and the planes have to fly between these Mountains if you are flying to a different destination of Nepal, but this is only for small planes as they cannot reach the high level in short time as bigger planes. Flying experiences for me in Nepal was one of the scariest but very exciting experience I have had so far in my life. I have listed some of things you might be able to do in Nepal if you have time of course to do all of it then even better.

For site seeing of Himalaya it is wise to catch a morning flight to get a clear view of the Mountains and the Landscape. Local airlines such as Tara Air and Royal Nepal Airlines provide flights to different destinations throughout Nepal everyday. It gives you an opportunity to see different sides of Nepal including mountains, white river and green landscapes. If you are travelling to a remote destination it is vital you should confirm your flight a few days earlier just because the local flights in Nepal can change in a moment’s notice.

If you are looking to go to the range of Mount Everest, there are flights you will be able to catch or do a long journey through trekking and bus rides, local people go through bus but normally all tourists catch the plane. This gives you an opportunity to see the highest peak of the World. Along with all these experiences there are places where you can learn to fly a plane. Flying your own plane is a different adventure than travelling as a passenger especially around these beautiful landscapes.

You will also be able to enjoy other outdoor activities such as trekking, paragliding, white river rafting and more. Second biggest city of Nepal after Kathmandu is Pokhara, where you will be able to do all the activities I have listed above. There are other places you can go and visit which have different beauties about them such as Chitwan for the wildlife, Manakamana for the highest temple, Gorkha for ancient pilgrims and palaces.
