It appears to be well constructed and sturdy. It’s long enough that he’ll be able to use it for many years yet. It was bought along with the pink slumberjack bag for his sister. The only confusion was which box was which on arrival. They come in very sturdy and well sealed boxes. There wasn’t any obvious marking telling which bad was which. We wrapped them both in identical wrapping paper and took a guess at the name tag!
So happy to see a little cold weather and snow didn't ruin the entire trip for your kids! I'm taking my boys (kids, husband, and 2 dogs!) this weekend to Tullulah Falls, Ga. We have done plenty of day hikes and backyard camping so they are stoked for a "real" overnight trip. . .I'm the nervous one! so much more stress when you are responsible for little ones!
I really enjoyed how you went about making these 3 videos… In todays electronic world kids can get lost in it but giving them the chance to do these kinds of outdoor actives is key… Also… Thumbs up for reusing the Wawa bowls.. I bet not a lot people would caught that one… "These are lite and free and would be great for backpacking"-Myself.. ;0)
And nobody died!…LOL. …Thanks for the video Bro!
Awesome cheer at the end.
Glad I finally found you I usually watch you with Syntax 77. The kids and the doggie had a great time I think and they will be ready to do it again I'm sure. Greetings from Tennessee !!!!
Great video, just did a solo overnighter on slide mountain a few weeks ago and hammock camped at the same spot you did with your family. Was funny coming across this video just now when i've been following your channel for a few months. I have a 3 year old daughter who i'm trying to get into hiking and camping so keep up this series of videos. They're really good.
awful soundtrack in the beginning, great video
Great video Mike. We share a lot of the same views and opinions. I am starting my son out car camping at 3 years old and he loves it. Maybe next year will try backpacking. Keep the vids coming. See you on the trail. Well done.
Great video man. Thanks for sharing and putting up with some crying kids to entertain and educate us all on the experience of hiking with kids. I did notice (maybe because of editing) that there were many more smiles than tears. Those views were amazing and your kids will never forget that trip. I hope to get my four year old out more this year.
Ok…I initially wrote a shitty comment because I completely respect the camping with kids issue and that is why I am researching camping tips for kids videos. Frankly, I want them to respect nature and its dangers while learning to love and respect it. This video is a great illustration of camping with kids but to me, it falls a bit short of the title. Jeans? First of the myriad of issues I am trying to ignore due to the fact that the family ended up ok….
Thanks for sharing… Great looking family. You shared some great tips and advice that I am sure to heed as I am just beginning to introduce my little one to the joy of hiking. Keep sharing your experiences.
Mike, I have followed Sean for quite some time and I am glad I finally found your site so that I cam see your side. This was a great video and I appreciate you for getting the kids out and letting them experience the trip. I have four children and we are outdoors a lot. I took them on an overnighter last summer. They had a blast. My only kryptonite is my wife is not an outdoorsman.
I caught that hike on video. Check it out, Juniper Creek Trail at JustoudoorNit. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, it's all about family.
Great video Mike. Looks like your kids had fun. Where did you guys go to??
Great video awesome to see kids getting into hiking. I am looking for a backpack for my daughter I was wondering what you chose for your kids. Also what pack was that the father was using?
